Helgoland is a North Sea spa and bathing resort within the meaning of the spa doctor contracts of the substitute health insurance funds as well as a health spa within the meaning of the list of health spas of the aid regulations of the Federal Minister of the Interior.

The spa tax is levied for the duration of each stay.
For the calculation, the day of arrival and the day of departure are considered as one day.

What is the spa tax used for?

Beautiful regularly cleaned beaches, guarded bathing places with supervision by the DLRG, children’s playgrounds, public toilets, function rooms, library and reading hall, public cultural and sporting events, and also the Tourist Information, which helps you plan your vacation all year round – for the guest all this is a matter of course.
Although the autumn and winter storms regularly “gnaw” at the sand and dunes, our idyllic gem, the dune, has been restored for the start of the season.
Almost 60 employees of the Helgoland Tourism Service devote themselves to the well-being of the guests during the season, not always visible to everyone. The costs for this are higher than the fees and entrance fees that are charged in some cases.
So that these services are nevertheless available to the guest, there is the health resort tax.

Kurkarte / Helgoland Card

The spa tax must always be paid to the landlord.
Adults: 2,75 € per day for the period from 01. April to 31. October
Adults: 1,50 € per day for the period from 01. November to 31. March
Adolescents up to the completion of the 18th year, persons in
persons in education until the completion of the 28th year and
people with handicap from GdB 70, as well as their accompanying person with a
B” in the identity card, are exempt from the spa tax.
