Situated on the north-eastern part of the island, the youth hostel on Helgoland not only offers a beautiful view of the wide sea, but also makes it possible to reach the island’s great landmark, the “Lange Anna”, in just a few minutes. With 139 beds, divided into double and four to eight-bed rooms, there is something for every type of group. Whether families, school classes, sports groups or clubs, here everyone finds his place.
In 2009, the Haus der Jugend was renovated from the basement to the roof at a total cost of 4.4 million euros and has since been given a new lease of life. The youth hostel offers many possibilities for school trips, vacation camps, youth education trips, seminars and family camps. The house is open all year round.

The hostel has single and shared rooms with a total of 139 beds. Some rooms are equipped for people with disabilities. Appropriate sanitary facilities, such as rooms with separate wet cell, are available.
For leisure activities, we have a piano, barbecue area, table tennis tables, boules court, basketball hoop, children’s playroom, recreation hall, outdoor chess court and a soccer field with artificial turf.
Our premises also offer space for seminars and are particularly suitable for ornithologists, naturalists and geologists.
Meeting rooms for up to 40 people are available for further education and training as well as workshops and lectures.
A stay is accompanied by healthy and tasty full board provided by our courteous staff. Packed lunches for excursions and special diets are available upon request.
