Grüner Becher für den guten Zweck – Einwegbecherfasten im Dezember auf Helgoland

Im August dieses Jahres führte das vom Helgoland Tourismus-Service geförderte Projekt „de green steer“ mit einigen Helgoländer Betrieben einen Pfandbecher für Heißgetränke zum Mitnehmen ein. Die Becher wurden gut angenommen und einige Cafés bieten schon jetzt ausschließlich Mehrwegbecher für den „Außer-Haus-Verkauf“ an. Um diese Entwicklung zu unterstützen, haben sich für den Dezember alle Anbieter von „To-go-Heißgetränken“ der Insel bereit erklärt, vier Wochen lang ausschließlich Mehrwegbecher an den Kunden auszugeben. Dafür können die Kunden ihren eigenen Becher mitbringen, oder sie erhalten beim Kauf eines Heißgetränkes einen Mehrwegbecher, den sie in der Regel gegen Pfand ausleihen können.

Die Einführung der Pfandbecher ist, nach den „green Anna“ Mehrwegtaschen, die 2015 im Einzelhandel erfolgreich eingeführt wurden, um Einwegtaschen zu reduzieren, die zweite Inselaktion um langfristig auf Mehrweg umzustellen. Beide Projekte gehören nun zum „de green steer“ Projekt. Dieses Projekt wurde 2019 auf Helgoland initiiert, um Helgoländer Betriebsstätten, die sich im Bereich Nachhaltigkeit engagieren auszuzeichnen. Das Projekt startete mit 27 Partnern und knapp 40 Betriebsstätten. Aktuell ist das Projekt auf 33 Partner und 50 Betriebsstätten angewachsen.

„Ich freue mich sehr über das Engagement und all die Ideen, die viele Menschen auf Helgoland im Bereich Nachhaltigkeit haben. Dadurch wächst das Projekt von Tag zu Tag aus der Bevölkerung selbst heraus.“ sagt Tourismusdirektor Stephan Hauke über das Projekt.
